Watering, harvesting and a first snowy area in our cozy RPG
Watering until the bed comes alive
A lot has happened on Veyl since this morning, and most of it simply feels right to play. The watering can is done. Turn whichever way you like and your hero waters in the direction he faces. Before, it only worked to the right, which looked pretty odd.
We also touched the hoe again. On the wind-up it was too long, and so were the hero's arms. The motion sits properly now, and we watched it many times in a row until we were happy. Harvesting works as intended again, too: reach the berry, press the button, done.
One small thing we liked while testing: if you undo a patch of field, it turns back into meadow. So you can experiment without leaving your land dug up forever.
More mood at the edge of the screen
We added something new for the look: the edges of the picture are a little darker now. It works like a light frame and makes the world in the middle feel warmer. We think the atmosphere is much better for it.
Snow and a house you can walk into (in testing right now)

We are also testing a snowy area right now. It snows, your hero leaves footprints, and there are small houses with a door. Stand in front of one and the game asks if you want to go in, and you see straight into the room.

It is not finished and we keep polishing it. We just wanted to show you where we are heading. Under the hood we also tidied up, so new things can reach the game faster from now on.
